Visiting Brighton from London  

If it is one of those hot summer days and you are suffocating from the heatwave in London you can take an hour-long train ride from London to Brighton. Once a fishing village, it has become one of the most popular seaside resorts in the United Kingdom. The main take-off point from London is the Victoria train station. The Brighton tourism office is at Bartholomew Square. However, the town can easily be covered on foot without a map, more so if you just want to take in the sea breeze, or get in the water for a swim or just look around at the shops.

The town centre of Brighton is just a few minutes from the railway station. Just follow the crowd as they leave the railway station upon arrival in Brighton and you should soon find yourself in the town centre.

It's a long straight road from the railway station to the seafront and you'll arrive at the beach after a leisurely 15-20 minutes stroll. Trains depart from Brighton for London at half-hourly intervals.

Churchill Square Shop, up on a little slope off the main road. Here you can find everything, even a swimming trunk (which I had some difficulty in finding along the beach!). Between shopping and the seafront you would have your afternoon filled in Brighton.
